Here are my Top 10 essential items for 2017
1. Well fitted Jeans
This doesn’t have to be skinny Jeans; they could be high-waisted jeans, slouch boyfriend jeans, straight legged or bootcut. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different styles, but make sure they fit.
2. Flat shoes
Everyone needs a pair of comfortable shoes for those errand days. I love brogues, Oxfords and Loafers.
For the days when trouser just don’t cut it, I put on either an A-line or Pencil skirt.
4. Classic Black Blazer
I love blazers. In fact I probably have too many. Blazers can be tailored (my fav), single or double breasted.
5. Versatile dress
My versatile dress is a shirt dress. I LOVE them. The number of different looks you can make with one dress (you can make a top and skirt) and the way it can transition to a day dress and a night dress makes it my go to dress.
6. Quality jewellery (including watch)
Invest in some good quality jewellery. It doesn’t have to break the bank, but should not leave green marks on the body. I invest in less statement pieces and more fine jewellery which can go with any outfit.
7. Black heels
Need I say more? Make sure to invest in a pair of black heels. There is nothing worst than going out in a pair of heels that are uncomfortable and then having to wear flats.
8. Tailored Trousers – E.g. joggers
If I could have everything tailored I would. They just fit great on the body. But for now, my two must have tailored items are trouser and blazers. Tailored trousers don’t just have to be straight legged, but could include tailored joggers.
9. Trainers – Black and White Pair
Everyone needs to have a pair of trainers. I have two pairs of ‘work appropriate’ trainers for those causal days in the office. You should be able to wear trainers with an outfit and not be afraid of it looking to causal or unprofessional.
10. Roll Neck Jumper
I love polo necks. They are a great layering piece in the winter and also a great standalone piece in the warmer months.
